Cyberpunk 2077's most recent update — patch 1.6.1 — released about a week ago, but those lazy gits over at Digital Foundry have only just got around to telling us whether it actually does anything of note on PS5. We're just kidding, of course, but when the aforementioned update hit the current-gen console, the patch notes mentioned something called "support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.1" — and we've been dying to hear Digital Foundry's take on it.
Basically, AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.1 is a clever slice of tech that allows for better upscaling during gameplay, often improving performance in the process. This technique has now been implemented in the PS5 version of Cyberpunk 2077 with patch 1.6.1, and it does apparently make a difference across both graphical modes.
